How much do the shares cost?
The
2010 summer share is $500 and runs
for 26 weeks ($19.23 weekly, $9.61 per week per person).
The 2010 winter share is $275 and runs
for 12 weeks ($22.72/week).
The
2010 egg share is $104 for a dozen
eggs each week for 26 weeks.
How can I pay for my share?
We take cash or check, and you can pay the whole thing
at once, in installments, or weekly,
whatever fits your budget best. We require that the
payments are kept current. For example,
if you have picked up 4 weeks of produce, we should
have received at least 4 weeks' payment.
Can I split a share?
Split shares are allowed only under these circumstances:
1. Between two single person households.
2. Between a family and a single mother/father-in-law
or elderly neighbor/friend.
Why can't other people split a share?
There are several reasons why other types of split shares
are not allowed.
1. The summer share is quite flexible in terms of how
much food a share receives, there are many "unlimited"
items each week in the distribution
shed, and there are many U-pick items throughout the
season that
are also unlimited. Members
can take as much or as little of these items as they
wish, making it difficult
to put a true price on the share.
2. The share is very economically priced when compared
to farmers' market or supermarket prices,
even without figuring in the
value of the U-pick crops.
3. At the very minimum, a share usually consists of
a least 2 people. When the weekly cost of
the 2009 summer share, $19.23, is
divided by two people, the cost per person per week
equals
$9.61 per week
per person. This is a very economical price for
a person to spend on delicious, fresh,
local produce each week!
May I share produce with non-members?
You must be a member to receive food from the farm.
This rule is necessary because of the un-rationed
nature of much of the produce. You can, of course, share
your produce with guests!
Will the share be too
large for my household?
Members are not required to take any produce they can't
use. Over several weeks members figure out
how much food their family can use in a week, and take
accordingly.
Will the share be too small for my household?
Probably not!
Can I bring my pets to the farm?
Yes, but they MUST stay in your car.
Where should I park?
Please park in our parking lots ONLY. Do NOT block the
farm road, we only have right-of-way access
to it, and other farmers use it frequently. If you have
difficulty accessing the
distribution shed, please let us know, we will help
you.
